Navdeep Chandel is a full professor at the Department of Medicine and Cell Biology at Northwestern University. He received a BA in mathematics and Ph.D. in Cell Physiology at University of Chicago. He also did his post-doctoral work at University of Chicago. He established his own lab in 2000 at Northwestern University focusing on the role of mitochondria as signaling organelles. His main interest lies in understanding how reactive oxygen species released from mitochondria can signal and regulate distinct biological outcomes such as differentiation, proliferation, and adaptation to stress.
